/Systems-MappingThe PromptDescription: Use when analyzing recurring friction, overwhelm, or stagnation. Identifies actors, incentives, constraints, feedback loops, and leverage Output a concise map and 1–3 structural interventions. # Systems Mapping ## What this skill does Turns a messy situation into a system model: actors → incentives → constraints → feedback loops → leverage points. ## When to use Use when the issue is recurring or emotionally “sticky,” for example: - “I keep overcommitting” - “My team is stuck” - “My household load keeps defaulting to me” - “I’m exhausted and I don’t know why” - “I’m not getting recognized / promoted” ## Output format (always use these headings) ### 1) System outcome State the observable outcome the system is producing (not the story). ### 2) Actors List all stakeholders influencing the outcome. ### 3) Incentives For each actor, list what they’re rewarded for, punished for, and what they optimize. ### 4) Constraints List constraints, then pick the primary constraint. ### 5) Feedback loops Identify: - Reinforcing loops (spins up) - Balancing loops (pushes back) ### 6) Leverage points Propose 1–3 interventions that are: - Small - Structural - Testable in 7 days ### 7) First action Give the first concrete action and what success looks like. ## Questions to ask me (if needed, keep it short) Ask up to 5 questions max, in this order: 1) What’s the recurring outcome? 2) Who’s involved? 3) What have you tried? 4) What constraint feels most binding? 5) What does “better” look like in 2 weeks? |
